This time, Cinderella wasn’t the one who lost her glass slipper.

Police in Oregon have announced they’re searching for a “Prince Charming” who left his shoes at the scene of a crime.

The Sandy Police Department told the tale in a Dec. 5 Facebook post.

“In a twist on the classic Cinderella tale, Sandy PD is looking for a ‘Prince Charming’ that left his shoes behind while running away from a ‘beer run’ at a local store,” the department wrote.

“Beer runs” are a name for a specific kind of shoplifting, involving one person walking into a convenience store or supermarket, grabbing beer and then making a run for it without paying for their booze.

Police shared a photo of the shoes found at the crime scene — a pair of light pink and red Nike Air Force 1s.

One of the shoes has a red shoelace while the other has a white. Both shoes are pictured inside a plastic evidence bag.

Officials with the Sandy Police Department have not shared any additional information about the suspect. It’s also unclear when the crime took place and where within the city it occurred.

Sandy, a city about 27 miles east of Portland, also serves as the western gateway to the Mount Hood corridor.

The state of Oregon classifies its theft offenses according to the value of stolen property, and in some cases by the type of property that was stolen. Oregon’s prosecution allows for criminal and civil penalties for shoplifting.
