Harrowing new video released Monday shows actress Anne Heche racing her blue Mini Clubdown down an alleyway and almost hitting a pedestrian just hours before driving into a suburban home and setting off a massive fire.
Heche, who was severely burned Friday’s crash and is now clinging to life in critical condition, is seen in the footage speeding down a narrow alley that’s painted in a blue matching her car.
The troubled 53-year-old actress races out onto the street before 11 a.m. and comes within a mere foot of a pedestrian, who is left stunned by the incident, according to the video released by TMZ.
The footage adds another troubling bullet point to Heche’s erratic behavior leading up to the fiery crash, which destroyed her neighbor’s home and took almost 60 firefighters to put out. The homeowner only narrowly escaped death.
Before the crash, she reportedly downed vodka and drank wine.
Heche’s rep denies she was boozing before the crash, but the actress has been ordered by police to hand over a blood sample after cops got a warrant for it.
Cops believe the “Six Days Seven Nights” star was drunk behind the wheel, but the results could take weeks to come back.
“The info we received this morning was a warrant was obtained the same day as the traffic collision, which was Aug. 5. The warrant was to draw blood, and an investigation is ongoing pending the blood test results,” a rep for the LAPD told Page Six on Monday. “If found intoxicated, [Heche] could be charged with misdemeanor DUI hit and run. No arrests have been made so far.”
Police are also investigating her “misdemeanor hit and run” before the fiery crash.
Previous footage showed the actress, well known for previously dating Ellen Degeneres, crashing into a nearby garage. Video obtained by TMZ caught her tires screeching as she ignored appeals to get out of the car and instead raced off.
A source close to her told CNN that the actress is “lucky to be alive.
“She has severe burns and has a long recovery ahead,” the source said. “Her team and her family are still trying to process what led up to the crash.”
