The “pure evil” man accused of abducting and killing a California family amid a year-long feud over their trucking business earlier this week tried a terrifyingly similar stunt in 2005 on a different trucking family with whom he’d fallen out, his earlier victims recalled.

Jesus Salgado, now 48, did eight years behind bars for robbing a couple and their 16-year-old daughter at gunpoint, a year after they’d fired him from their trucking business amid suspicions that he stole from the company, The Los Angeles Times reported.

Salgado is now charged with with four counts of murder and four counts of kidnapping for killing 8-month-old Aroohi Dheri; her mother, Jasleen Kaur, 27; father, Jasdeep Singh, 36; and uncle, Amandeep Singh, 39. His brother, Alberto Salgado, was also charged in the plot.

“Because of what he did to us, in his mind, he had to smarten up. He didn’t get away with it,” daughter Katrina told the Los Angeles Times, which did not publish the women’s last names.

Katrina recalled how she was inside the house with her mother and a friend when her father called to “tell Mom to open the door ’cause I bought a rug,” not knowing a masked Salgado was behind him with a gun, the report said.

The father, whose name was also not revealed, recounted earlier this week that Salgado showed up at his home in December 2005 wearing a ski mask and held a gun to the back of his head, then used duct tape to restrain him, his wife, their 16-year-old daughter and the girl’s friend, before he “stole all the money we had, rings, that kind of stuff.”

“I was so scared,” mom Kathy said of opening the household safe where their valuables were stored with a gun pointed at her family. “And I expected to hear the shot as soon as [the safe] was open.”

Kathy’s husband advised her in hushed tones not to say Salgado’s name, and the bandit ordered his hostages to jump into the pool before fleeing. Cops rounded him up a few days later.

Katrina said her “heart is shattered” for the Singh family, who like her parents employed Salgado in their trucking business, Unison Trucking Inc.

The family and Salgado had a year-long feud that “got pretty nasty” in texts and emails, according to local authorities.

The alleged killer was caught on tape leading Jasdeep and Amandeep Singh with their hands zip-tied into the back of one of their trucks. He returned minutes later to take Kaur and her baby.

“There’s some things you’ll take to the grave,” The family and Salgado had a year-long feud that “got pretty nasty” in texts and emails, according to Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke said. “This to me was pure evil.”

Kathy and Katrina recalled Salgado as friendly and polite before the fued began, the Times said.

“I never felt scared around him. He was nice,” Katrina said. “I never put a fear with his face.”
