Disgraced Long Island Rep.-elect George Santos was seen chortling as he sat next to far-right Rep.-elect Marjorie Taylor Greene on Thursday during the House of Representative’s ninth failed attempt to elect a speaker.
At one point, Greene leaned over toward Santos and covered her mouth as she muttered something to the freshman congressman-elect.
Whatever Greene said caused Santos to burst out laughing — a notable moment for the lying rep who has kept a low profile since the new Congress went into session Tuesday.
Santos, who is being investigated at the state, local, and federal level for his tall tales on the campaign trail, largely avoided being seen at all in the House chamber Wednesday.
Santos admitted to The Post last month that he fabricated much of his resume and life story as he battled Democrat Robert Zimmerman to be New York’s 3rd Congressional District representative.
The fibbing future lawmaker has ducked questions about his lies and on Wednesday only popped into the chamber when it was his time to vote for Rep.-elect Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) for speaker, perhaps in an effort to head off the awkward images taken of him on Tuesday.

Santos has mostly sat alone, with most members of Congress seemingly wanting nothing to do with the new GOP congressman.
But Greene has shown Santos support in the past.
In December 2022, after a disastrous interview on Fox News with former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii), Greene said it was Gabbard who showed “zero grace.”
“Tulsi Gabbard, who says she is a former Democrat, gave Rep-elect George Santos zero grace, while George is admitting and apologizing for lying about his resume, just like her former colleagues are giving George zero grace & even demanding he resign,” Greene wrote in a tweet.
“Tulsi says that George’s actions on the House floor are what is most important, but George has not even had the chance to take action for his district on the House floor because he isn’t even sworn in yet,” she added.
“I think we Republicans should give George Santos a chance and see how he legislates and votes, not treat him the same as the left is,” said Greene.
