Memphis and Hamza met via an international dating app in April 2021 and had been dating long-distance for eight months before the Michigan native took the long flight to meet the Tunisian in person.
While the sparks between the online lovers were apparent, the spinoff also documented the pair’s many obstacles. On the January 16, 2022, episode, Memphis learned her future husband lied about his age and was actually two years younger than she thought he was.
The nurse practitioner had a few secrets of her own as she later confessed that she had spent time with her ex-husband at the start of their relationship. In the dumps over not passing her nursing exam, Memphis explained, “I was feeling kind of down and he said that I could stay at his house. So, I spent four nights at his house, but nothing happened sexually.”

Despite the highs and lows of the relationship, the couple made it down the aisle in a traditional Tunisian wedding orchestrated by Hamza’s family. As she was a United States citizen who got married in a foreign country, Memphis likely filed a CR-1 visa for Hamza, skipping the K-1 visa process that 90 Day Fiancé is known for.
The CR1 visa – or conditional resident visa – applies to a foreign spouse who has been married to a U.S. citizen for less than two years. Within 90 days of the two-year window, the couple is required to submit an application for the conditional status to be removed. If the application is not filed, the foreign spouse’s green card will expire on the two-year anniversary of their visa issuance., as detailed by the State Department.
In Memphis and Hamza’s case, the Tunisian native likely has a green card through the CR-1 visa as of publication.
Did Memphis Give Birth Without Hamza Present In the United States?
Shortly after their honeymoon, Memphis learned she was pregnant with their first child together – she is already a mom of two children from previous relationships.
With her departure from Tunisia nearing, the realization of being alone during her pregnancy started to sink in for Memphis. “When I go to the U.S., I need to apply for the spousal for him and I don’t know how long that whole process is gonna take,” Memphis told producers in her confessional. “But I really hope that he is there for the birth of our baby.”
Hamza was not present for the birth of their daughter in October 2021, but he united with Memphis and their infant daughter in early November 2021. He also appeared beside Memphis during the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 5 reunion episode in January 2022. It was during this oncamera appearance, however, that fans started to notice cracks in the couple’s foundation. Memphis’ social media use further pointed to trouble between her and her husband, as she scrubbed any mention of Hamza off of Instagram. Beady-eyed fans also noticed that both Memphis and Hamza unfollowed each other. The nurse practitioner took things one step further when she posted a quote on her Instagram Stories which read, “Never love a man so much that you ignore the truth about him.”

While the couple didn’t make an official statement, Memphis confirmed her separation from Hamza when she posted a photo on Instagram with the hashtag “single mom” in April 2022. Hamza further shed light on the situation when he took to social media on Father’s Day 2022, telling followers that he would not be celebrating the day with his young daughter.
“Today is Father’s Day. It would be the first Father’s Day with my daughter, we should be celebrating together,” Hamza wrote on June 19. “I don’t know when I will see her.”

After months of speculation and cryptic posts from both parties, In Touch confirmed that Memphis and Hamza have been battling in court over the custody of their young daughter. “In July 2022, Mr. Mokni’s attorney secured an immediate court order granting Mr. Mokni monitored visits with the couple’s minor child,” a source known to Hamza exclusively told In Touch on September 9.
About six weeks later, Hamza reunited with his daughter and shared the moment via social media.
“I got to see my precious beautiful, sweet baby girl. My daughter my heart. My Princess,” Hamza wrote on Instagram on October 29, 2022. “After such a long time away from her. My time with her filled me with such joy. I can’t wait to see her again.”
What Is Hamza’s Immigration Status?
Hamza revealed during the reunion taping of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days that he had been in the United States since November 2021, indicating that he has a portion of time left before the aforementioned two-year timeline runs out. However, given that he and Memphis are separated and are battling in court as of publication, time will tell if they reunite in order to remove the “conditional” status of his CR1 visa. If the couple do formally divorce, Hamza’s status in the United States could potentially be jeopardized.
