Did those intense sparks fizzle out? Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly (real name: Colson Baker) first sparked breakup rumors after the “Bloody Valentine” singer walked the red carpet of the American Music Awards in November 2021 without the Jennifer’s Body star. As time went on, fans continued to speculate that they’re headed toward a split. Here’s everything we know about their relationship status.
MGK Walked the Red Carpet Without Megan, but Not Alone
On the night he took home AMA’s Favorite Rock Artist, MGK, 32, made quite the presence on the red carpet — however, it wasn’t with his then-girlfriend, Megan, 36. Instead, he was joined by his 13-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.
Fans of the musician and the actor immediately took to social media to speculate over their relationship.
“Did MGK and Megan Fox breakup?” a Twitter user shared, adding a crying emoji. Another added, “Megan Fox and MGK have been quiet lately … a little TOO quiet.”
MGK and Megan Fox’s Relationship
MGK and Megan met in March 2020 while they were working on the film Midnight in the Switchgrass. In May 2020, a source told In Touch that the couple had been “hooking up for weeks.” Since then, the PDA-loving couple have been spotted on red carpets and on double dates with Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian.
Megan Fox and MGK Are Currently Engaged
Megan and MGK appeared to shut down split rumors when the “Rap Devil” musician proposed in January 2022.
“In July of 2020 we sat under this banyan tree,” Megan captioned a video that documented his romantic proposal. “We asked for magic. We were oblivious to the pain we would face together in such a short, frenetic period of time. Unaware of the work and sacrifices the relationship would require from us but intoxicated off of the love. And the karma.”
“Somehow a year and a half later, having walked through hell together, and having laughed more than I ever imagined possible, he asked me to marry him,” the New Girl actress continued. “And just as in every lifetime before this one, and as in every lifetime that will follow it, I said yes …and then we drank each other’s blood. 1.11.22.”
MGK also shared the news by showcasing Megan’s diamond ring, writing, “‘Yes, in this life and every life.’ Beneath the same branches we fell in love under, I brought her back to ask her to marry me. I know tradition is one ring, but I designed it with Stephen Webster to be two: the emerald (her birth stone) and the diamond (my birth stone) set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love.”
Megan Fox and MGK Have Continued to Spark Split Rumors
In viral footage, the Tennessee native appeared to dodge the sweet gesture as MGK laughed off the awkward moment before they hit the red carpet together.
Megan seemed to shut down the split rumors when she shared a sweet tribute to her soon-to-be husband on his 32nd birthday on April 22. “You’re such a gorgeous soul,” she wrote in the moving tribute. “I’m honored to love you and to be the recipient of your love.”
Fans continued to speculate that there’s trouble in paradise when they noticed the couple stopped appearing in photos via social media together, though Megan and MGK seemed to be going strong when they were spotted together in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles on August 16.
Megan once again sparked breakup rumors in October when she shared a series of Instagram selfies wearing several rings on her left hand, though she noticeably ditched her engagement ring.
